The acrylic bicycle crank bracket demonstrates my creativity within mechanical design. My design was chosen to continuously iterate on for this group project. It's novelty lies in the x-shaped connection points that takes advantage of the neutral axis. This allows for the bracket to break farther away from the connection points. My bracket was the only design out of about 30 brackets to not use a rectangular connection hole.
The continuous iteration and testing was performed by Mahirah Alam, Nnenna Nwaigwe, and I. We used acrylic, epoxy, a laser cutter, ABS, and a 3d printer to create different iterations.
